Arizona

I'm finally doing something productive so I thought that I would do some posting. Tucson, AZ was the location of this year's national baton twirling championships. I was not looking forward to the weather and I wasn't disappointed. The difference between the air conditioned arena to the hallway in between the checkin area was astonishing.
Team was pretty bad. I had to get up every single day at about 5:30 because I was the alternate for every team routine that I wasn't actually doing, even for America (I hate those fake eyelashes). The junior team basically gave away their first place because of the amount of drops they had in White Bird, but second was okay, just not what we wanted. America and Sol-fa both got 5th out of 6 teams, which was really bad. Liane and Nancy definitely weren't happy.
Nevertheless, Saturday completely made up for it. Everyone was a champion in something. Teresa started the day for us because she was Set 1 and she was the first one to get a 1st. After that, at the end of the day, all of us had something to take home. Cassidy made up for her drops in her presentation last year by winning both her Beginning and Intermediate Presentation. I really regret not polishing up my illusion now because I only got second because of my horrible illusion (but anyway can't do anything about that now). I got first in solo, two baton, and duet with Teresa (we are Beginner now :D) and even with a bloody nose before my two baton. I was literally, no kidding, twirling with a bloody nose which absolutely sucked.
Now, all we have to look forward to and work for is International Cup. Australia is in 4 days!!! I'm super pissed that I'm not doing Sol-fa, but what can I do about it now...

Team Marathon

Yesterday the competition at Brea-Orlinda High School ended with me running across the back of the gym to join the Senior team to do another routine after just finishing another. Emily was missing so I had to fill her spot and then, I had to do my own spot on the Sol-fa routine. It was absolutely, completely exhausting, but still fun amazingly. I felt that I just finished running a marathon when I was done with both; I was breathing so hard and sweat was literally running down my face even after I wiped some away. Nevertheless, I dealt with it because when you are doing something you love, you just put up with all the things that are thrown at you.

Locking the Door

Today I just bursted out crying for no reason. Not exactly no reason, but I feel that crying was unnecessary. My stupid dad got angry at me for taking out his USB's wrong for god sake and for some reason, starts shouting at me for not giving him his computer although I was just trying to close windows and shut down. He is SOOOO annoying. Even his voice annoys me if that's even possible. (Sorry Norm you get to read my rant)

Exasperating

Things that make me want to kick a wall:
1) Doing a puzzle where piece don't fit
2) When parents yell at me for no reason and say stupid things that make me want to yell right back

Things that makes me want to jump up and down:
1) Finally doing my monster neck rock right! :)

Pride and Prejudice

Basically, while I had decided to finish my homework, I didn't because I was so preoccupied with watching Pride and Prejudice, the one with Colin Firth. IT was actually really good, but SUPER long! Well, I still enjoyed it though.. and yay! It is three days in a row now

Posting

I can't believe how long it's been since I posted! 23 hours!!! That's amazing.. I haven't posted in so long and I now have two days in a row.. crazy.. oo well.. just felt like posting because it's NEW YEAR'S DAY!!! Recycling today was fun. Car rides and riding on scooters was fun too. Being a klutz isn't fun...I also realized today that watching planes write ads in the sky that also welcome the new year is pretty awesome
(wow.. I use awesome way too much now..)

Memories of 2008

This year has given me a lot to look back on. A LOT

First of all, the D.C. trip
AMAZING!
That trip changed a lot of things, although all of the 2008 class of JMS are basically just finding about them now. Well, at least, I am.
I feel sorry for the rest of them who missed out.

Second of all, promotion from 8th grade
That would have been one of the best moments of my life if it weren't for that stupid speech I had to do. That was sooooooooooo embarrassing especially when I messed up...Oh god.. Don't even want to remember
The crazy round of photos and hugs made memories that will last for a long long time.
After tat was enjoyable though because of the lunch with Karen, Jennifer, and norm. But that's old news.

Then, it was Nationals
Who knew it could be so enjoyable and that I would now have so many memories to look back on?
The summer at Florida and Indiana for those two almost three weeks was AWESOME! I had so much fun (although Liane worked our butts off).
Looking back now, it is hard to think of the work we put in, but mostly the feeling of success of having made it on the International Cup Team to go to Australia..
It is the most exhilarating feeling.

After that was Taiwan.
Meeting my family there after so long (5 years) was kind of awkward, but after a few hours on the first day, my cousins and I were acting as we were before when I came to visit.
I think I did enough shopping there to last me a long time! =)
I can't wait till the next time I go back.

Now, it's high school and 9th grade.
They say freshmen year is easy, but if it's this hard now, who knows how hard it's going to get later on?
That's enough said..

I can't wait until the clock turns 12
~Welcome 2009!!~

Talking

Haven't you noticed that the hardest thing for us to do is talk to other people about what we really feel? Even if they are our closest friends, we still can't seem to tell them everything. Although we can tell them some things that we can;t tell other people, but there are just some of those things that we don't tell them.
It's frustrating for me because even if I wanted to say something, I can't. The words just don't come out of my mouth. Ever have that feeling?
You think I want to say something... but you don't. Then you regret your decision not to say anything, but the next time a moment presents itself, you still can't say anything.
Is it really that hard for all of just to tell the people closest to us how we feel?
Would that be too much to ask?
I would feel better knowing something because that person had that much trust in me to tell me. Your confidence in your friendship drops if your friend doesn't tell you anything or don't confide in you.
I HATE that feeling

Journeys

Everyone has somewhere they want to go, no matter where it is. We each wish to be able to travel one place. Some of us may even have a list of places that we want to visit before we die. I'm one of those people, but I'm not old at all, I can tell you that for sure. However, I do want to be able to visit many places before the inevitable happens. Life is basically a journey with us choosing the way we want to go, whether it is right or wrong. Trips to places we have never seen before just adds life to the blandness of each of our normal routines. Trips, for example, to our nation's capital. There is obviously something that brings me to say this, but you will just have to find that out for yourself. I wish that I have a chance to fufill my own dream of visiting the many places we all wish to see.

Braces

Braces are extremely painful. This is a hint to those who have not have them before and need them; this is just a warning to you. I feel it is my job to inform you that just the process before actually getting your braces is harsh. Then there's the chance that your orthodontist have to pull out teeth to be able to move some of your teeth around. You will feel that pain in your mouth hit right after the numbing medicine wears off. I know I did. Although I may be exaggerating just a tad, I am saying the truth. Lolz polarjelly, you must be thinking is this girl not thinking at all? Well, anyways, braces are just a hassle and annoying, but then this just depends on how long you need to have them which basically saying it depends on how bad your teeth are. lolz :P If they are extremely bad and you get them really late, you will just ahve to live with them through high school and if your luck or should I say your teeth are that bad you could have ti when you're in college, but then it all just counts on you. :)

Life Choices

Who knew it would be so hard to decide what you want to do when you grow up? It was always so easy when we could just say something like a teacher or a doctor when grown-ups asked ,"What do you want to be when you grow up?" We didn't have to think about it or how that would affect us when we grew up. Thinking about all the choices I have to make now just makes me have a headache. It is so complicated. You have to make the right choice for yourself and your career if you want to live happily in this world of a capitalist economy. Choices, choices, and more choices. They just want to swamp you with all these booklets about how you can do this or you can't do that, when we have enough things to worry about already without having to know that we have even more things to worry about. However, it is a good things to know that we have options that we can choose, but then that is also the problem. We have so many things to choose from that you don't know what to pick. It is like trying to pick out a lollipop when you like all the flavors they are offering you. It is amazing the trials that we all have to go through to be successful. We have to choose classes in high school that will benefit us when we grow up and enable us to go to college. We have to make the right choices about who we hang out with so we don't get dragged into the wrong crowds. Each and every thing you do can affect you in the future. If you have no organization skills now, guess whose going to have a hard time with time management when you grow up and have a full schedule? Choices, choices, and more choices. Each one will affect you for the rest of your life.

Persuasiveness

Everyone needs to be able to be persuasive unless you never want to be able to have someone help you with something, do something for you, or something like that. For example, polarjelly just convinced a friend to get a blog. With no persuasion skills, she would not have been able to convince him to get a blog... Well.. letters are a great way to express yourself to somebody and also to persuade., but writing one is such a pain! It takes forever and you actually have to back yourself if you want that person you are writing to to believe you. The art of persuasion.. Everyone needs to learn and master it.

Life Energy

Right now, everyone is like talking about green and persay the green team. Well.. it's all just talk. Like the saying, Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk. It's amazing what people claimed they want to do, but they will never do and I do admit, it's the same for me. Let's just use the example of global warming. People say that whatever one person does to help can make a difference and then the next moment, you see them climb into their car to drive to a place that is easier to get there by walking or someone throwing a piece of trash into the storm drain. That is what I like to call irony(and yes it was not my invention). I believe that everyone needs to do their part to help our Earth and yes I'm just using this as an example of our very unthoughtful ways and for how idiotic most of us are (not including me of coarse). However, there are people who do do something to make a difference and for that, I honor them. Thank you for showing those other nations who seem to think that Americans are just fat, lazy people who sit in front of their TV. Lives depend on each and everyone of our actions. So now, everyone, just think twice before you climb into your car to drive some place extremely close or before you throw your trash onto the floor( I don't think you want to be fined either).

Obsessive Reading

Everyone knows this about me... I read like crazy! I read like who knows what.. I don't read anything crazy though, although some of my friends would disagree. I think that there is a difference between obssessive and just liking and i definitely crossed that with reading so much.. I even have this nickname that I'm not going to say because anyone who reads this is going to be calling me that which would not make my life any better. Well.. anyways. have you noticed that there are tons of books that are made into movies? That's the same with anime and manga.. Manga is the book and anime is like the movie. And right now my favorite genre of writing is manga!! definite awesomeness and the reason for my continued addiction to reading just about 24/7.

New blog!!

go and chec it out!! its awesomeness! and excuse the weird name.. norm and i wanted something different.. and yes.. im going to reserve to aim talk because i dont want to type as much as i usually do.. cause im just too lazy lolz :) so anyways link is http://dadoxylon.blogspot.com/ hope u enjoy! lolz and its still under construction. polarjelly, is it okay that I post this now?

Stress

Great..... more homework.. What a joy! All of this just addds stress to my day.. ( and no i didn't make it rhyme on purpose) Who knew just being a 13-yr old girl could be such a time consuming thing? With the drama about your social life, to worrying about your grades, it is seriously not a fun thing..wel.. and then add extracurricular activities like baton twirling and band and who know's what else us kids do these days, then you add more stress because then you have to worry about all those other things since you have to think about all those things! Imagine trying to go to sleep ,but you can't because all those thoughts connected to all those things are crammed into your head and you are trying to memorize the new baton routine in your sleep, reminding yourself if you missed any homework, and remembering all the commands to yell to those incompetant classmates of yours during band class, then you SERIOUSLY can't get some well-deserved sleep.

Long long time..

It has been a long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long long (i think u get the point) time since i have posted lolz. :D I guess that makes it all the more interesting and as norm says she's getting bored of the shopping being the first one... so this is dedicated to her! so i don't bore her to death and then i have to attend her funeral and lay daisies over her grave :P And she would probably think this is extremely weird since we are both talking about homework just because she's on speaker wel.. still extremely weird.. and hopely she won't die of boredom now since i posted something new.

Smile and March Forward

Competitions..they are so stressing!!! Sometimes I wish I never had to go to competitions, but then that would take all the fun out of winning since there would be no winning. Competitions are the things that I practice for. They are the things I work so hard to compete in. Ask any of my friends. They are the one who have to deal with the fact that I practice like 3 days a week for at least 2 hrs. On Sunday, I have to wake up at 7, put my hair up, and make sure I'm not late so I don't have to fun laps around the gym. Practices are 6 long long long long long long long long hrs..... Well.. anyways.. going to competitions and kicking all those other teams' butts makes all of this worth it.. (and yes polarjelly you can laugh). And I have learned to get thorugh my nervousness by well just laughing it off, having a good time, even though we are competing against each other while some of us are on the same team and in the same division. That just makes it all the more fun when you beat someone that you actually know than someone whose a stranger... I know the feeling. Competitions... the joy and the stress of my life.

Shopping Craze!

Hmm.. I wonder what this post is going to be about. SHOPPING! We girls as a stereotype are like absolutely obssessed with shopping! and today is like the best day to shop! The mall are packed to the brim and if you want something awesome, you probably have to wrestle someone to the ground for it.. that's just how crazy it is! Wandering the shops when you have money is the worst torture.. You notice something so cute and you can't get it. And the next person that somes along and grabs the very same item that you have been looking at with such longing, bringing it to the counter. That is the very worst torture.
Now turn on the radio. What do you hear? Commercials, commercials and more commercials! I just heard one about Macy's telling us about their after Thanksgiving sale! They are so annoying, but without them, we crazy shoppers(girls...) would never know when there is a sale at our favorite store and we can get great things at half the price that it was before. That is the greatest thing. And right now, there are probably people riding to the mall in their cars, waiting for that shopping craze at the malll that is waiting for them.

Semifinals :D

Hooray!!! Finally! sheesh!! It took forever just to get the scores and now that I know it was not worth the wait. Our scores were like soooooooo high!! The scorers were too nice... yeesh! i did so horrid on my opening and I get a perfect.. No need to be nice since I know how bad I did. When I heard our coaches talking about how we did I got really nervous because I heard them talk about me in like stage whispers, so basically letting us hear every single word they were saying. Our team made it to Semifinals!!!!! Which is awesomeness and randomnes at the same time.. Our percentage was of 50.31% which means that the other team only lost by like 2 points. Team B, the team who didn't make it to semifianls only lost by 2 points to Dexter (ewwww...),but thank god they didn't make it to semifinals either because their percentage was too low for them to be us( since we are so awesome!). The four teams who are still left in semifinals out of 39 middle school teams are Wesley, last years champions, Sierra Canyon, the two year's prior champions, Chaminade, a ghetto college preparatory school, and then us!! There is a chance that we will go against Wesley since they didn't switch sides and are still on prosectution. We all don't seem to want to face them since they are such a *****y( figure it out yourself) school and so stuck-up. We just have to till Tuesday and see. Semifinals then Finals here we come and we are going to rock the courthouse.

Waiting :(

I ABSOLUTELY HATE waiting for anything!!! Basically, that means that I am a very impatient person. Right now, I'm waiting for our scores for Round 3 of Mock Trial to come out and they are taking forever!! I'm checking like every 5 minutes and they still aren't there. Some of us on the Mock Tiral team have also been checking since 8 o' clock this morning! Waiting is the hardest thing to do! You just can't stand there, waiting and waiting. I even hate waiting in my school lunch lines and i *cough*cut*cough* in line...obviously. So basically, i hate waiting and right now, I'm getting really frustrated that the scores won't come out!!!!!!!!

The Joys of This World

"Joy to the world the angels sing..."( I have no clue if these are even the correct lyrics). We all think of different things as "enjoyable", however, all of us (hopefully) have one thing in common. We LOVE Christmas. As the songs go( can't remember a specific one), Christmas is really the BeSt time of the year. This is the time of year we get to celebrate, party, and give and get presents. Have you ever seen the smile on someone's face when you bring the joy to their year with your present? That is something that I haven't seen. I, for one, love getting presents(greedy) but i never seem to get any! *a tear drips down my face* Every individual has their own special joy and for me, one of them is when Christmas comes to town.

Time Management

Time.. This is the one thing I'm the worst at managing. Think about it. We have a project we have to do and we prcrastinate and procrastinate and put it off till the last minute or we get distracting by the thousand more tempting things that are much more interesting than homework such as going to the mall which is having a one-day sale and im guessing that this only applies to me, but going to Borders and sitting there, reading manga as fast as I can. Time management is one of the things I seriously need to learn how to do since I need it to be able to be successful and I am aiming really high as most of my friends know. Everyone has so much to do and I always go when someone asks me do I have time hmm... I never really know what my schedule is and as I get busier, I really need to keep track of my time. Time goes by really fast or really slow, although it always depends on what you are doing, but without time management which I have learned myself, it is really hard to enjoy your day since you rushing around all over the place.

Sport of Champions

I bet your wondering what in the world is a sport of champions. Obviously it's baton twirling! Most people have no clue what that is so I'll explain. First of all, the baton that we use is a metal stick(and yes it is really metal and really hurts when it bonks you on the head) with rubber tips at the ends. You can spin it around, toss it into the air, and a lot more things, but it really hard to explain in writing. You have to experience it. Most people see them in front of a parade, a person twirling a baton in front of the band, the flag tossers and even the banner holders. It's great being in the spotlight. We even have competitions. I'm very inexperienced in solo activities, but our team won 6th place at Nationals that took place in Notre Dame, Indiana two years ago. Next year in July, my team is going to go to Daytona, Florida for a different competition. I can't wait! Baton twirling is really a sport for champions

Anime for those who don't know

Anime is the awesomest thing in the entire world! I think you can tell that I think a lot of things are awesome... Anyways.. anime is something that people get addicted to once they start. Once you start you can stop. Most animes are also based on manga sometimes called graphic novels are the book version of anime. Anime and manga both have many different types.. such as shoujo, romance, action, sci-fi, sports, drama, comedy, hentai (which is perverted in jap) and so many others that i don't feel like naming. There are so many series of anime. Some exanples would be Full Moon wo Sagashite, Ashita no Nadja, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Tokimeki Memorial, Gakuen Alice, Prince of Tennis, Code Geass, Prism Ark, Bokura ga Ita, Radnarok, Fruits Basket, La Corda D'Oro, Black Cat, Chrno Crusade, Cardcaptro Sakua, Tsubasa Chronicles, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and a lot lot more..I'm still addicted as the proof of the addiction of anime.. I ABSOLUTELY luv anime!

What in the world is MoCk TrIaL?!

It is the awesomest thing in the whole wide world! lolz :] We kids fake a trial, not like we really are kids. Lawyers, witnesses, clerks, and baliffs are what we become! We rock that courtroom and obliterate our opponent. Last week at the county competition, we absolutely kicked ass. At the end of the trial. the other team basically told us that they knew that they had lost. We scored 234 out of 255!! Obviously we won! No duh! And we are going to do the same this tuesday!
